Riverlights Derby

Transport
Derby bus station is located next door to the casino serving various
destinations. There is also a taxi rank located opposite the bus station
entrance and exit. These transport links are a short distance away and step
free to the casino.

Car Park
There is a multi-storey car park for the Intu shopping centre that has a
dedicated entrance and exit for customers to the casino. The car park is a
short step free distance to the casino.

Main Entrance
The approach route is at a minimum width of 1800mm.
The approach route is clearly defined.
The approach route is free from obstructions.
Surfaces on the approach to the entrance are suitable for wheelchair users.
The door is manual.
There are pull handles.
The door opens in.
The effective clear width of the door is at a minimum of 800mm.
The threshold is level.
The pull handle is within reach of all users.
The door pressure is kept to a minimum on manually operated doors fitted
with self-closing devices.

Reception

The main reception for the casino is located on the Ground Floor. There is seating available in the reception area and the reception desk has no lower section and measures 1150mm. There is plenty of room to move around with ease and there are low chairs with armrests.  There is an induction loop at the desk.

The door width is adequate.
The door is light enough to open easily.
There are grab rails provided.
There is an assistance alarm.
The toilet layout is suitable for right-handed transfers.

Reception Area Male Toilets
The toilets are located in an accessible location.
The doors are lightweight enough to open easily.
A low-level urinal is not provided in the male WC.
Please be aware a larger cubicle is not available for ambulant disabled people,
but there is a separate ambulant toilet on this level.
There are no handrails positioned either side of the urinal for support.

Reception Area Female Toilets
The toilets are located in an accessible location.
The doors are lightweight enough to open easily.

From the ground floor there are 3 steps to escalator access to the upper
floors.

Lift to Upper Floors
The upper floors are accessed by a lift due to security this can only be
operated by a member of staff.

Bar

This is a drinks bar style restaurant.
The restaurant has table service. The restaurant has a counter service.
Please be aware the self-service counter may not be accessible for all users.
Braille menus are not available.
Large print menus are not available.
There is enough space for a wheelchair user to pass freely between tables.
The clear widths are adequate.
The acoustic environment is suitable for the intended use.
The floor surface is suitable for the passage of wheelchair users.
The floor surfaces are slip resistant.

Dance Floor

The clear widths are adequate.
Mixed seating some with arm rests.
Booth seating available up two steps.

Fahrenheit Restaurant

This is a British style restaurant.
The restaurant has table service.
Braille menus are not available.
Large print menus are not available.
There is enough space for a wheelchair user to pass freely between tables.
The seats provided are stable.
The seating may not suit all intended users as there are no armrests.
Some customers may not find the seating suitable as the seats are all at the
same height.
The clear widths are adequate.
The floor surface is suitable for the passage of wheelchair users.
The floor surfaces are slip resistant.

Gaming Area

The gaming area can be accessed from the bar via two steps or ramp.
The ramp meets the necessary dimensions for gradient, width and length.
There are handrails.
The ramp and immediate area is well lit.

Card Room
